The Company
AMA Optics, Inc. is a privately held company based in Miami Beach, Florida and is the manufacturer of the Retinal Acuity Meter (RAM®). The Retinal Acuity Meter (RAM®) has been developed to determine the cause of unexplained vision loss by providing a fast and accurate assessment of macular function. Physicians, optometrists and their staff can easily diagnosis whether visual impairment is related to cataract or macular dysfunction, such as, ARMD, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, etc.
The RAM® technology (formerly the Illuminated Near Card) was developed at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. Clinical research and validation has been reported by clinicians from Columbia University, Duke University, Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins University, and Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City.
